The Three Beacon, also known as Redfin Black Spot Pleco, is a pleco species with unique coloring. It is predominantly found in the upper Orinoco river in Colombia and Venezuela, typically inhabiting rocky and swiftly flowing waters. Unlike some other pleco species, the Three Beacon Pleco is more carnivorous in nature. Therefore, it should be offered a diverse diet consisting of protein-rich sinking prepared foods.

In terms of behavior, this pleco species can exhibit aggression and territoriality to a greater extent than many other plecos. Therefore, it is crucial to provide them with abundant hiding places and rockwork within the aquarium to help alleviate potential conflicts and provide a sense of security.
