The Delhezi or Armored Bichir is a medium-sized member of the "upper jaw" complex of Polypterus. It can be found throughout much of the Congo River Basin in Central Africa. This species is highly recognizable due to its heavy body, prehistoric appearance, and striking banded pattern. It has gained popularity among aquarium enthusiasts and is now commercially bred in Southeast Asia.
Similar to other Bichir species, Delhezi Bichirs are known for their hardiness and undemanding nature, making them suitable for a wide range of aquarists.
