Albino Pacu
The subfamily Serrasalminae comprises of several species of freshwater fish that are indigenous to South America, including the piranha, silver dollar, and the pacu. The term "pacu" originates from the Tupi-guarani language spoken by Brazilian Indians, and translates to "quick eater." Among the species of pacu, the ones belonging to the Colossoma genus are popular in the North American aquarium trade, and are also referred to as "vegetarian piranhas."
