Albino Rainbow Shark

The rainbow shark, also known as the ruby shark, offers various color morphs, including the albino form. The natural coloration of rainbow sharks is typically gray to violet, with light red fins. However, there are other unique variants available, such as the glofish shark, which exhibits fluorescence in shades of green, purple, red, or yellow under ultraviolet light.

The albino color morph was among the first variations to become available when captive breeding of these freshwater "sharks" began. It's important to note that albino sharks are not true sharks, as the majority of shark species are found in saltwater environments. Instead, they belong to the minnow family Cyprinidae.

Albino shark aquarium fish are part of a group of species marketed as freshwater sharks in pet stores. These fish share common traits, including pointed dorsal fins, forked tail fins, and an active nature. Alongside albino sharks, other shark minnow species available in the market include the harlequin shark, red-tailed shark, and black shark.

Rainbow sharks, specifically, belong to the shark minnow group and are considered the smallest and easiest to care for among them. Their close relatives include goldfish, barb fish, and rasboras, as they all belong to the Cyprinidae family.
