As adults, they develop elongated fins and display vibrant yellow and blue colors, making them visually appealing as dither fish for medium to large cichlids or as centerpiece fish in a planted aquarium. They thrive in slightly cooler water with good oxygenation and prefer moderate to strong water currents. To replicate their natural habitat in an aquarium, it is recommended to include one or more powerheads or circulation pumps to ensure adequate water flow.
