Habrosus Cory

he Salt and Pepper Pygmy Cory Catfish (Corydoras habrosus) is a lively and uniquely patterned schooling fish that adds charm to community and planted aquariums. Its light tan body is adorned with striking black and shiny silver spots and broken stripes, reminiscent of salt and pepper. It is significantly smaller than the similarly named Peppered Cory Catfish (Corydoras paleatus), which is also available.

This peaceful schooling fish, the Salt and Pepper Pygmy Cory Catfish, is compatible with most nano aquarium inhabitants. While it may consume dwarf shrimp fry, it generally coexists well with adult dwarf shrimp. As a classic scavenger, it roams and feeds on the aquarium floor, necessitating a substrate of sand or smooth gravel. Coarse substrate can potentially harm its delicate barbels and underbelly. However, this fish is otherwise undemanding and accepts a variety of dry and frozen foods. It adapts well to most tropical freshwater conditions, as long as regular maintenance is performed.

In summary, the Salt and Pepper Pygmy Cory Catfish is a captivating addition to community and planted aquariums. Its distinctive appearance, peaceful nature, and compatibility with nano tank mates make it an appealing choice. By providing appropriate substrate and a varied diet, this undemanding fish can thrive in a well-maintained aquarium.
