Description
L240 Vampire Pleco
All species of Leporacanthicus, including this Venezuelan species, possess a distinctive feature—a small, slightly raised, blunt, thorn-like plate on the top of their heads, facing backward.
This particular Venezuelan species closely resembles Leporacanthicus galaxias and could potentially represent the northern boundary of the latter's distribution range. Adult fish of this species typically have very few or no spots at the tips of their unpaired fins, resulting in a distinctive black edge appearance.
