Description

Hypsibarbus wetmorei, also known as the golden belly barb, lemon fin barb, lemon barb, or Kerai (sometimes spelled as Krai), is a species of cyprinid fish. It is native to several rivers in Mainland Southeast Asia, including the Mae Klong, Mekong, Chao Phraya, Tapi, and Pahang rivers. Despite being relatively common locally and categorized as a species of Least Concern, it faces threats such as overfishing, dam construction, and pollution, particularly in certain parts of its range. Typically, it reaches a length of about 25 cm (10 in), although it has been recorded growing up to approximately 70 cm (2 ft 4 in).
