Datnioides undecimradiatus, commonly known as the Gold Datnoid or the Golden Tigerfish, is a species of freshwater fish native to Southeast Asia, particularly in the Mekong and Chao Phraya river basins.

The Gold Datnoid has a distinctive appearance, with a shiny golden body and black stripes that resemble tiger stripes. It has a streamlined, elongated body shape and a large, powerful jaw that it uses to hunt and consume its prey. The species can grow up to 24 inches (60 cm) in length in the wild, making it a relatively large fish that requires a spacious aquarium to thrive.

In terms of aquarium care, the Gold Datnoid requires a large aquarium with plenty of swimming space and hiding places, such as caves or plants. It is a carnivorous species that requires a varied diet consisting of live or frozen foods, such as shrimp, small fish, or insects. It is important to feed the fish an appropriate diet to ensure its health and well-being.

The water parameters for the Gold Datnoid should be kept stable, with a pH between 6.0 and 7.5, and temperatures between 75-82°F (24-28°C). Regular water changes and proper maintenance of the aquarium are important to ensure the health and well-being of this species.

It is important to note that the Gold Datnoid can be aggressive towards other fish and may not be suitable for a community aquarium. It is best kept with other large, predatory fish or as a solitary specimen. Additionally, due to its size and predatory nature, it should not be kept with small or delicate fish or invertebrates that it may view as food.
