Description
Orange Pike Fish ( crenicichla lugubris xingu 1 )
Formerly a commonplace in the aquarium trade, the Xingu I or Orange Xingu Pike Cichlid has become a rare import, hailing from the swift-flowing, clear, rocky waters of Brazil’s Rio Xingu. In their natural habitat, these cichlids inhabit rapids amid rocks, showing a preference for warm, well-oxygenated water with a strong current. Juvenile fish exhibit social behavior, often forming groups, while adults grow into large, powerful, and aggressive predators, making them best suited for cohabitation with other large, similarly sized tankmates.
