The Orca Wood Catfish (Centromochlus orca) is a small, nocturnal South American catfish prized for its striking black-and-white “orca” pattern. It’s a shy, wood-dwelling species that prefers dim lighting, plenty of driftwood, and hiding spots, making it ideal for peaceful community tanks with calm tankmates. Feeding is easy with sinking pellets, frozen foods, and meaty fare offered at night, when it becomes most active. Despite its bold look, it’s gentle and best kept away from aggressive or fin-nipping fish.
