The Gold Roseline Barb (Puntius denisonii), also known as the Denison Barb or Red Line Torpedo Barb, is a vibrant and popular freshwater fish in the aquarium hobby. It is native to the Western Ghats mountain range in India and is prized for its striking appearance and active swimming behavior.
The Roseline Barb has a torpedo-shaped body with a distinctive bright red stripe running horizontally along its silver body. It can grow up to 4 inches in length and prefers well-planted aquariums with plenty of swimming space and hiding spots. They are peaceful fish but can be somewhat aggressive towards their own kind, so it's important to keep them in groups of at least 6 individuals to reduce aggression.
Roseline Barbs are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods, including flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods. They require a well-balanced diet that includes both plant-based and protein-rich foods. They also prefer slightly acidic water conditions with a pH of around 6.5-7.5 and a water temperature between 72-79°F.
