Tetraodon miurus, also known as the red Miurus puffer or the red Congo puffer, is a freshwater pufferfish found in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa. This species is known for its distinctive bright red coloration, with black spots on its body and fins.

T. miurus is a predatory fish that feeds on snails, crustaceans, and other small aquatic animals in the wild. In the aquarium, they should be offered a varied diet that includes live or frozen foods, such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and krill.

This species is not recommended for beginner aquarists due to its aggressive nature and specific care requirements. They require a large aquarium with plenty of hiding places and clean, well-oxygenated water. T. miurus is also known for its ability to inflate itself when threatened, which can cause injury or death if not handled properly.
