Black berry silver dollar
The Blackberry or Blueberry Silver Dollar is an uncommon and selectively bred color variation of the Black Bar Silver Dollar (M. schomburgkii). Originating from breeders in Asia, this unique variation is still relatively rare in the United States. Distinguishing features of this fish include a prominent blueish-black blotch that covers a significant portion of its body, along with deep red fins, creating a striking and vibrant appearance.
These colorful and showy fish make an excellent addition to larger community aquariums. Their care requirements and behavior are similar to the more well-known Black Bar or Blue Hook Silver Dollars. They are best kept in groups and readily school with other similar species, contributing to an engaging and visually appealing display in the aquarium.
