Golden Weeksii Polypterus Bichir

one of a kind ! Hard to find

The Weeksi Bichir, also known as the Mottled Bichir, is native to Central Africa, where it can be found in shallow waters with low to moderate currents and ample hiding places. Belonging to the "upper jaw" group of Polypterus, this species is named for the characteristic protrusion of their upper lip over the lower jaw.

In aquarium settings, the Weeksi Bichir exhibits the hardiness and undemanding nature commonly seen in bichir species. However, it is important to keep them in a tank with a secure and tightly-fitting lid, possibly weighted, as they have a propensity to jump when startled or during nighttime activity.

The Weeksi Bichir's natural habitat and unique appearance make it a fascinating addition to any aquarium. Its ability to adapt to various water conditions and its relatively low care requirements contribute to its popularity among fishkeepers. Providing ample hiding spots and a suitable environment that resembles its natural habitat will ensure the well-being of this captivating species.
