Hydrocynus goliath, also known as the goliath tigerfish, is a large predatory fish that is native to the Congo River basin and several other rivers and lakes in Central Africa. It is considered one of the largest freshwater fish in the world, with some specimens reportedly reaching over 6 feet (1.8 meters) in length and weighing up to 154 pounds (70 kilograms).
The goliath tigerfish is known for its large, powerful jaws and sharp teeth, which it uses to hunt and feed on other fish, including smaller tigerfish, catfish, and even birds that venture too close to the water's surface. It is also known for its incredible strength and fighting ability, making it a popular target for sport fishermen.
