Tank Setup
- Group size: Keep at least six individuals; larger groups encourage natural behaviour.
- Water: Maintain temperatures of 73–79 °F with a pH of 6.5–7.5. Use soft water and moderate flow.
- Décor: Create a densely planted tank with hiding spots and open swimming space. Dark substrates and floating plants accentuate their colours.
Diet and Compatibility
These danios have small mouths and feed on micro foods like powdered flakes, micro pellets and tiny live foods (infusoria, microworms). They are peaceful and can be kept with other small fish and shrimp.
CPDs can be shy at first; adding dither fish such as ember tetras helps them feel secure. Planting live plants for fish tanks not only enhances aesthetics but also provides spawning sites.
