The Red Brick Freshwater Lobster (Cherax boesemani) is an incredibly rare color variant of the Supernova, also known as the Papua Blue Marble Crayfish. This striking variation hails from West Papua New Guinea and exhibits various shades of pink and burgundy. It's a skilled climber, so caution is necessary to prevent escapes. As it matures, the Red Brick becomes territorial, requiring hiding spots in the tank. A minimum 30-gallon well-filtered aquarium is essential for one adult, with larger setups for multiple adults. Despite its hardiness, regular water changes are crucial for optimal health. Compatibility with other tankmates requires careful consideration due to its opportunistic feeding behavior. The Red Brick's vibrant color, of exceptionally high quality, may temporarily fade after molting, a normal occurrence during shipping. The bright color typically returns within two weeks or less.
